When I first started putting this Aquamanish thing together, I had no idea what I wanted to do.  I started putting stuff together and it just so happened to start looking like a merman.  So, I decided to go with a flounder-looking body and then added a merman tail.  After that, I put some spikes running along his back to make him look a little more intimidating.  Also, I had to add some sort of weapon, and what's better for a merman than a trident?  Eventually, everything fell into place and I got this cool looking guy.  Unfortunately, he doesn't have a name, so he will just be called Aquamanish looking merman.
